Artist's biography
Sandy Dolan studied photography at Massachusetts
College of Art in Boston, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts
degree. While still in Boston, she worked for the studios
of John Dellaria. In 1981 she moved to Maine. She worked as
a photographer for Belfast's Republican Journal from
1989 to 1996. During that time, several of her photographs
received awards from the Maine Press Association.
In 1998 her color photography was accepted into
Stock Newport of Newport, Rhode Island. She was among
35 marine photographers worldwide who Stock Newport represented
to the corporate and commercial world. She as been published
in Cruising World and Soundings magazines. Recently,
two of her photographs were chosen to be included in DeLorme's
Maine Geographic Calendars in 2005 and 2006.
Sandy continues to seek out locations that express
her vision of the beauty of her Maine surroundings. "I
feel lucky to have lived in the Penobscot Bay area since 1981.
The changing seasons, weather, and light outside my door are
a constant inspiration to my work."
